Winchester Old Timers
Live in Springfield, Illinois. I used to lay in bed as a kid and listen to the "500" on the radio - the sound of those cars was and still is amazing! Hung around a dirt floor garage as a highschool kid in Pontiac, Illinois, who's owner Joe Mullin went to the first Indy 500. That got me goin. We'd go to Springfield to watch the Champ cars run. (we'd get in free on the trailer of a racer because they knew Joe.) We'd watch the race and then hang around a bar afterwards and the winning car was put in there! (I think it was owned by one of the Weyants) also hung around Dave Chamber's shop in the evenings (DC Engineering. Usually he'd have a champ car or 2 in there. I ran a garage "Metric Wrench" here for about 25 years. I'm retired now. I really enjoy "purpose built" racers!
